Magdelena Ilieva
Magdelena Ilieva studied film directing at NYU Tisch and Bulgaria. She produced feature The Lesson (Toronto IFF, awarded at Warsaw IFF, Tokyo IFF, LUX Prize finalist, sold in over 35 territories) and shorts The Son (Tampere IFF, Sofia IFF, Grand Prix for Best Short at Cottbus IFF and the Bulgarian Film Academy), ENEMIES (Sofia IFF, Trieste IFF), Jump (Clermont-Ferrand, EFA nomination), among others. She is currently in postproduction with her directorial debut Eternity Package, aka Money for a Funeral, which she launched at the Berlinale Talent Project Market in 2016 with her company Little Wing Productions. Her short Hole, aka Money for a Funeral, created together with Jonathan Heidelberger, was a Best Short nominee at Oscar-qualifying Edmonton IFF and was awarded at the Bulgarian Golden Rose FF “for a tenderly told story with thrillingly built characters”.
