Štěpán Altrichter is writer and director. He studied philosophy and psychology at the Freie Universität Berlin. In 2013 he graduated from HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg. He made several short films for ARD and ZDF. He has won a number of awards for his documentary film 'Aleyna - Little Miss Neukölln', including a prize for the best German TV movie for children. His feature-length debut, 'Schmitke', premiered at the Busan 2014 International Film Festival and won many awards (among others Best Film Debut at Cottbus Film Festival, Czech Film Critics Award for Discovery of the Year).
