Nejc Pohar
Nejc Pohar was born in Ljubljana in 1976. He finished the studies of sociology of culture and history of arts at University of Ljubljana and continued to study film directing at FAMU, Prague. He wrote and directed his first short film for the Slovenian national broadcaster RTV Slovenija in 2002 and soon after began directing TV commercials as well.
In 2012 he directed all episodes of the Slovenian adaptation of the highly acclaimed TV series In Treatment for the commercial broadcaster POP TV. Up to 2020 he has directed commercials in more than 15 countries, including campaigns for brands such as Ikea, Samsung, Audi, Toyota, Pepsi, T-Mobile, McDonalds, and Hisense, to name a few.
Nejc often writes about films as well, with his main interest being the relationship between movies and new media. Between 2016 and 2019 he was writing a bi-monthly column for the Outsider magazine covering the topics on how to survive in the modern world.
