Juraj Janiš is an award-winning director of commercials. Apart from numerous local creative awards he won silver at the esteemed international Epica Awards, silver at the ADC Europe Awards and was twice a finalist at the New York Advertising Festival. His work has been featured on the prestigious international platforms shots.net, directorslirbary.com, lbbonline.com and adsoftheworld.com.
Juraj studied photography in the Czech Republic and has a degree in film studies from the De Montfort University in the UK. Prior to starting to direct adverts, Juraj gained experience as a member of production teams, assistant director and camera operator on numerous commercial and film productions. Among other films he was in the AD team for the feature film “Move On” (dir. Asger Leth), starring Mads Mikkelsen.
At the moment, Juraj is developing a feature length documentary film “Gabriel” about transgender youth in Slovakia. “Rubber Band Run” is Juraj’s first directorial step into the territory of a longer format narrative live action film.
