Magdalena Sztorc graduated in Applied Linguistics from the University of Warsaw and Film Production from Łódz Film School. She started her career as a programmer at New Horizons IFF, which is one of the most important film events in Central Europe. She runs the production company Before My Eyes. One of her shorts, Fragments premiered in the Quinzaine Shorts at Cannes in 2014. Her feature debut Simple Things premiered in the main competition of New Horizons in 2020, and was released in Poland 2021. In 2020, she completed her second feature, Everyone Has a Summer, which premiered at the Gdynia FF. The international premiere took place at Giffoni IFF in the Generator 16+ competition. The film received many awards in Poland, including best director, best photography and best music at the Polish Film Debuts Festival “Młodzi i Film”, as well as the Audience Award at ToffiFest IFF. She is a member of the Polish Producers Guild and a teacher at the Warsaw Film School.
