Tomàs Bayo Encontra is a Spanish screenwriter. He graduated from ESCAC Film School (Barcelona) in 2018. Since then, his work has focused on co-writing with different directors. His first short films have screened in Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, Colombia, Italy, India… Among them are NEITHER FORGIVING, NOR FORGET (2020, Catalan Academy Award for Best Short Film), SUMMER’S SOLSTICE (2019, SEMINCI winner), THE TRAIN OF JOY (2022, starting distribution) and DALIA (2023, in preproduction). He’s currently writing four features for production companies Fractal7, Contraria Media, AYHE Productions and Pausa Dramàtica. With them he’s participated in development programs Ekran+ (Poland), ECAM’S La Incubadora (Spain), among others, and was a nominee for SGAE’S Julio Alejandro Award for best unproduced Spanish screenplay. He’s a 2023 Oxbelly Episodic Program alumn (Greece). In 2019, he worked as a writer for Mexican company BTF. He also works as an acting teacher in Barcelona.
