Ognjen Sviličić (1971) is a Croatian film director and script-writer. He graduated Film Directing on the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb, Croatia, where he now also teaches scriptwriting.

He directed 5 feature films among them being most successful These are the Rules (2014), which premiered in Orizzonti selection of Venice Film Festival 2014, where main actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović received Special Orizzonti Award for Best Actor. He also received Best Director Award at Warsaw Film Festival 2014.

His other two feature films Sorry for Kung Fu (2003) and Armin (2007) premiered internationally in Berlinale Forum in 2004 and 2007 respectively and both received several international awards. Especially Armin gained international recognition, with more than 100 film festivals and more than 20 awards, among them Best Film of East from the West in Karlovy Vary 2007 and FIPRESCI award for the best foreign film at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Sviličić is a scriptwriter or co-writer of several internationally recognized feature films: Metastases (2009) by Branko Schmidt, Slovenian Girl (2009) and Nightlife (2016), both with and directed by Damjan Kozole as well as regional box-office hit We’ll be the World Champions (2015) by Darko Bajić. He also wrote scripts for several successful Croatian TV series.
