Jakub Rálek is graduate of film and TV production at both DAMU (theatre) and FAMU (TV and film) production at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In addition to a number of school films, including the award-winning animated films The Kite (dir. M. Smatana) and SH_T HAPPENS (screened at Venice Biennale and Sundance, Palm Springs etc., by D. Štumpf, M. Mihalyiová), which were co-produced with BFILM s.r.o. he has experience in independent, advertising, documentary, and TV production. He was line producer of the webseries #martyisdead which was the first Czech project to win the prestigious International Emmy Award 2020. Since 2022, he has been the producer and MD of the animation studio Divize animace, s.r.o. and since 2023, he became MD of the company BFILM s.r.o., with which he previously worked and now he’s developing live action fiction film and TV miniseries and one animated short about menstruation.
